1 day of difference for a lifetime of change

27-28 March 2015

Caritas would like to say a huge thank you to all who participated in the 2014 Caritas Challenge, it was a great event.

The Caritas Challenge is an annual 24-hour event for schools and youth groups during Lent that builds solidarity with those living with poverty or injustice. It offers hands-on experiences that are fun and informative, while raising funds.

In 2015 the Caritas Challenge will be held on the 27 and 28 March.

Why take
up the challenge?

Developed by Caritas Aotearoa New Zealand, the Caritas Challenge offers an opportunity for young people to experience in a small way some of the challenges faced by those living in poverty on a daily basis.

The aim is for participants to join together in solidarity with the poor and in doing so to connect with the principles of Catholic social teaching while raising money towards one of the many international partnerships that Caritas supports.

Who you
will help?

The 2014 Caritas Challenge focus is on our neighbours in Solomon Islands. Its dispersed geography across 992 islands in the southwest Pacific, coupled with ongoing recovery from conflict of a decade ago, mean daily challenges for its people to provide vital services like water, housing, health and education.
